Egale Canada

Hate isn't history

Egale’s new campaign, “Hate Isn’t History,” confronts a harsh truth: discrimination against the 2SLGBTQI+ community is far from over. Despite decades of progress, hate persists in new forms on new platforms. The campaign draws attention to the disturbing parallels between violent incidents from the 1950s, 70s, and 80s and those still happening today. By placing historical photojournalism side by side with modern-day social media posts, it reveals that what many assume belongs to the past is still a lived reality for countless people.
